God of War 3 News

Finally, John Hight has some great news for God of War fans. The Director of Product Development revealed that the God of War III E3 Demo will now be included with the God of War Collection. Remember, that SCEA didn’t want to include the Demo as it wasn’t up-to-standards yet.

They seem to have done a rethink, based on the general response of fans. You can download the Demo over the PSN, however there is a catch. It will be available only for those who purchase the God of War Collection through a voucher code.

Still, its a pretty good incentive for those who were on the fence, in deciding to buy the God of War Collection. To remind you, the Collection has both God of War games at 720p and 60fps.

We had discussed in our previous post about the God of War Collection. Sony has since then announced the God of War Collection release date. It will be released on 10th November 2009 in the US.

However, it will be region free. European God of War fans can get it early, provided they can afford the International shipping costs in addition to the price of $39.99 or get it through someone going to the US.

Our previous post reported speculation brewing about GoW1 and GoW2 on PS3 Bluray disks. Sony has now confirmed that both game titles will be now available on the Playstation 3. Fans can replay both God of War 1 & 2 in the awesomeness of PS3 at a price of $39.99.

Sony had once said Backward Compatibility on PS3 will no longer be supported, so these titles seem to have been ported onto the PS3. It all started when SCEA asked fans to fill in  a survey of what they would like in the Collector’s Edition and a lot of fans wanted GoW1 & 2. Porting a game to a different console is no easy work and its commendable that they were able to do it so quickly. The games are remastered, with trophies and run at 720p

However, as speculated God of War 3 demo wont come with the God of War Collection. Product Development Director for the SCEA, John Hight said to IGN in an interview that the God of War 3 Demo will take time and didn’t want it to hinder  the release of the God of War Collection.

The other bummer is that the God of War Collection wont release in Europe this year. No further information was revealed by SCEE on the delay.

Gamescom came and went away without any new news about God of War 3. It seemed that all was quiet in Santa Monica, but surprising news has come from Mexico. A person by the name of Marco Delgado who is supposedly the Product Manager for Sony Mexico let it out on his Twitter page, that a special God of War 3 pack is being released this December.

The God of War 3 special package will contain God of War, God of War II and God of War III Demo. If true, this will be awesome Christmas gift for all God of War 3 fans.

God of War III Censored by ESRB logo

God of War has always been trademark brutal and seemed to have stretched the boundaries a lot in GoW1 & 2. However, Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has decided that God of War 3 is pushing it too far. ESRB has clamped down on sites showing God of War 3 trailers and forced them to show censored God of War 3 videos. GameTrailers.com has been one of those that have borne the brunt to unreluctantly show the below censored footage:

Yeah! Those pesky “Censored by ESRB” messages during the finishing moves are a real irritant. Though ESRB intentions are honest, the way they have gone ahead in censoring these videos is questionable. ESRB hasn’t been able to clearly censor everything that should have been censored as you can see in the video. The other issue is why do we have to type in our age if we still would be presented with censored gameplay. Censored gameplay viewing is okay for kids, but showing it to mature audiences is childish!

Also, what about video community sites like Youtube that already have the uncensored God of War 3 Trailers? A better solution would be that ESRB and SCEA (or other video developers) come together to decide what would be appropriate footage that can be publicly displayed, prior to events such as E3. This would be a common sense and pro-active.
